The Stars have been one of the top teams in the NHL all season and have done so despite missing several key players for extended stretches.\u00a0 They also happen to be without quite a few regulars in the stretch run of the season.\u00a0 In an appearance on 96.7 The Ticket earlier today (audio link<\/a>), head coach Glen Gulutzan provided updates on several of his players.<\/p>\n

Earlier today, the team revealed that defenseman Miro Heiskanen<\/a> was undergoing imaging<\/a> for a lower-body injury.\u00a0 He\u2019s set to miss the remaining three games of the regular season while Gulutzan added that he is \u201ccertainly hoping\u201d to have his top blueliner back when the playoffs start.\u00a0 If he isn\u2019t able to return, it would be the second straight postseason in which Heiskanen would miss time as he was sidelined for 10 of their 18 contests in 2025.<\/p>\n

The other high-end player that remains sidelined for Dallas is center Roope Hintz<\/a>.\u00a0 He sustained a lower-body last month (in his first game back following an illness that kept him sidelined after the Olympic break) and while the original hope was that he wouldn\u2019t miss much time, he hasn\u2019t played since.\u00a0 Recently, the plan was for him to get back into action before the end of the regular season but that is no longer the case.\u00a0 Now, the hope is that Hintz, who is still listed as week-to-week, will be ready for the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Heiskanen isn\u2019t the only Dallas defender who\u2019s now banged up.\u00a0 Gulutzan indicated that Tyler Myers<\/a> reaggravated an old injury on Thursday and could miss Saturday\u2019s game against the Rangers as a result.\u00a0 Acquired just before the trade deadline from Vancouver, the veteran is averaging over 16 minutes per night in 13 games with his new team as he has helped stabilize the back of their back end.<\/p>\n
