Fraser Valley Heritage Railway to celebrate 25-year milestone this season<\/p>\n

With the 25th anniversary<\/a> for Cloverdale\u2019s Heritage Railway finally here, volunteers are working on several legacy projects to mark the big milestone.<\/p>\n The Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society has been operating as a society since 2001. Cadres of volunteers have worked tirelessly over the years to make the railway what it is today.<\/p>\n Allen Aubert, FVHRS secretary, said several projects are in the works to celebrate 25 years of Heritage rail in Surrey.<\/p>\n \u201cLegacy projects are underway such as the design for a new rail siding in Sullivan,\u201d Aubert said. \u201cWhen completed it will provide direct access to the Sullivan Station, which at that time will be accessible for passengers to board and travel to the Cloverdale Station.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that plans are underway to test and operate two BCER cars together. This would mean the BCER 1225 car and and the BCER 1231 car would run connected to Sullivan Station, thereby doubling the capacity for passengers on the Sullivan Excursion.<\/p>\n Aubert noted the BCER 1207, their oldest interurban, has been moved to the restoration area in the car barn where volunteers will begin to work to restore the carriage to operating condition. He said this will take several years. Currently they have three interurbans\u20141225, 1231, 1304\u2014restored an operational. When the 1207 car is restored, this would quadruple their current passenger capacity.<\/p>\n \u201cOur second speeder has been completed following a two year restoration,\u201d he added. The new speeder provides \u201cadditional capacity for our \u2018speeder experience\u2019 offered as part of the Heritage Railway Adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n During the 2026 summer season, several special 25th anniversary celebration events are planned for weekends at Cloverdale Station, but they are yet to be announced. Aubert encouraged railway supporters and fans to check their website periodically for details.<\/p>\n He added that visitors to the Cloverdale Heritage Railway Campus can also take in their natural meadow space when they come down for a visit.<\/p>\n \u201cThe wildflower meadow<\/a> and beehives, in partnership with the Surrey Honey Bee Centre, will continue to be an attraction and featured on our Heritage Railway Adventure tour.\u201d<\/p>\n The Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society operates the railway out of the Cloverdale Heritage Railway Campus, which includes Cloverdale Station and the Restoration Car Barn, at Highway 10 and 176A Street, in <\/a>Surrey<\/a>.<\/p>\n
