Jannik Sinner will face Alexander Zverev in a repeat of the 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/category\/australian-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Australian Open<\/a> final before Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s battle against the crowd favorite Valentin Vacherot. We here at LWOT give our prediction and analysis in this article, but which players do you expect to reach the final?<\/p>\n<p>ATP Monte Carlo Semifinal Predictions<br \/>\nJannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: Sinner 8-4 Zverev<\/p>\n<p>Sinner progressed to this stage with triumphs over Ugo Humbert, Tomas Machac, and Felix Auger-Aliassime. Machac came closest to beating him by <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2026\/04\/09\/thomas-machac-jannik-sinner-falls-short\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ending the Italian\u2019s streak of 37 consecutive sets<\/a> at Masters 1000 tournaments. Zverev survived tight battles with Joao Fonseca and Cristian Garin. His other victory against Zizou Bergs was more comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>Zverev has lost his last seven matches against Sinner, but they were all on hard courts. In fact, the German\u2019s last success against the four-time Grand Slam champion was in Monte Carlo four years ago. Although Sinner has significantly improved since, Zverev\u2019s best chance of overcoming him again is on clay.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, I still feel Sinner will edge this. The slow conditions should help Zverev in the rallies, but the world No. 2 has become so good at not panicking during the rallies. That quality will help him there and can prove the difference over three sets.<br \/>Prediction: Sinner in 3<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Alcaraz vs Valentin Vacherot<\/p>\n<p>Head-to-head: First meeting<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz beat Sebastian Baez, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, and Alexander Bublik in the previous rounds, while Vacherot defeated Juan Manuel Cerundolo, Lorenzo Musetti, Hubert Hurkacz, and Alex de Minaur. All of Vacherot\u2019s victories were hard-fought.<\/p>\n<p>Usually, Alcaraz receives most of the crowd\u2019s support in his matches. That will not be the case here, due to Vacherot\u2019s connections to the area. The 27-year-old\u2019s heroics at the 2025 Shanghai Masters proved how undaunted he is on the big stage, which will be beneficial in this match. Yet, that mindset does not cover <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/tennis\/2026\/04\/10\/carlos-alcaraz-valentin-vacherot-monte-carlo-semifinal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the technical gap between these men<\/a>, especially on clay. Vacherot is a clean ball-striker, but he does not do anything better than Alcaraz.
