Former NFL player Chad Johnson has called out former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Johnson, who recently signed as a brand ambassador for UFC Fight Pass, insisted his desire to compete isn\u2019t just for clicks. Johnson admitted that while he would \u201cdrown\u201d if the fight hit the mat, he believes his athleticism would allow him to \u201csurvive\u201d on the feet.<\/p>\n

Johnson\u2019s timing follows a difficult period for Adesanya, who is currently on a four-fight losing streak. Most recently, on March 28, 2026, Adesanya suffered a defeat to Joe Pyfer in Seattle, leading many to wonder if he will retire.
