Former pro Kim Andersen was turfed from from the final day of racing at Itzulia Basque Country.
Danish DS Andersen banned from the Stage 6 after breaching convoy regulations, according to Feltet.dk.<\/a><\/p>\n

Andersen was also handed a fine of 1,000 Swiss francs, shown a yellow card. The penalty also means that Lidl-Trek is only allowed one team car in the caravan.<\/p>\n

The sanction stems from an incident in which the team car attempted to move up toward the breakaway and made contact with EF Education-EasyPost rider Markel Beloki. The Spanish rider (and son of the great Joseba), avoided crashing. It was pretty bad, tbh. You can check it out below.<\/p>\n

The jury report cited a violation of rules governing vehicle movement within the race convoy.<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t the only driving mishap in Spain. A moto photographer received a fine and yellow card, while another driver was also penalized for a similar offence.<\/p>\n

Seixas continues domination<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s queen stage around Eibar blew the race apart, but it still ended with Paul Seixas<\/a> tightening his grip on Itzulia. The French ace followed every key move on a relentless day of eight climbs, marking attacks on Krabelin and Izua before the race split to pieces behind him.<\/p>\n

Early breakaway riders were swept up as the favourites lit it up, with Florian Lipowitz the only one able to truly go with Seixas over the final sequence. Primo\u017e Rogli\u010d tried to limit the damage but was left chasing after a late crash involving Javier Romo disrupted that group.<\/p>\n

Out front, Seixas and Lipowitz committed to the descent and run-in, setting up a two-up sprint where Lipowitz jumped early, only for Seixas to come around and seal a third straight stage win. The result stretched his overall lead, with Lipowitz now clearly second heading into the final day. As for Seixas, he has shown that he truly is one of the Next Big Things\u2122 to emerge in pro cycling.<\/p>\n
