The two-day event features space talks with NASA experts, cutting-edge tech and hands-on stargazing experiences.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-67d5e65f-c5b1-43c5-bd91-9d7b336539f8-2\" class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">Over the years, NEAF has grown into &#8220;the world renowned <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/northeast-astronomy-forum-preview-schedule.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/northeast-astronomy-forum-preview-schedule.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/northeast-astronomy-forum-preview-schedule.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">forum of space and astronomy<\/a> interests&#8221; and &#8220;the preeminent symposium for award winning talks, workshops, classes and conferences,&#8221; drawing more than 4,000 professionals, amateurs and space enthusiasts annually, all coming together to share interests and passions, NEAF producer Ed Siemenn told Space.com.<\/p>\n<p>            You may like<\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-3700bd41-09b3-4c15-9293-bd7ec692d5df\">More than 100 vendors and exhibitors from around the world attend NEAF, representing major manufacturers and dealers. That breadth, Siemenn noted, makes it &#8220;one of the largest trade shows and collaborative venues of its kind in the world&#8221; as well as &#8220;an enthusiast\u2019s shopping paradise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NEAF is a true \u2018Forum\u2019 of events for anyone who has gazed upward to the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/what-to-see-night-sky-april-2026-maps\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/what-to-see-night-sky-april-2026-maps\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/what-to-see-night-sky-april-2026-maps\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">night sky<\/a> and found a curiosity to understand the cosmos that lies beyond our own thin atmosphere,&#8221; Siemenn said. &#8220;Each year NEAF searches the globe to present an all star line up of amazing guests that are making history today. Nowhere else can you find such an exciting array of programs brought together in one place and at one time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit hall spans telescope makers, imaging equipment providers, astronomy clubs and space organizations, complemented by live demonstrations, solar observing, beginner telescope sessions, planetarium programming and a large raffle.<\/p>\n<p>Among this year&#8217;s standout speakers is <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/36831-astronaut-anna-fisher-nasa-career-photos.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/36831-astronaut-anna-fisher-nasa-career-photos.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/36831-astronaut-anna-fisher-nasa-career-photos.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anna Fisher<\/a>, a trailblazing NASA astronaut and one of the first women to fly in space. She made history in 1984 aboard the space shuttle Discovery on mission STS-51A, helping to capture and return two malfunctioning satellites \u2014 one of the most technically challenging rescue operations ever performed in orbit. A physician as well as an astronaut, she later became the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/41013-nasa-astronaut-godmother-viking-orion-interview.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/41013-nasa-astronaut-godmother-viking-orion-interview.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/41013-nasa-astronaut-godmother-viking-orion-interview.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first mother<\/a> to travel to space, and has played a key role in shaping NASA\u2019s human spaceflight programs through decades of service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Breaking space news, the latest updates on rocket launches, skywatching events and more!<\/p>\n<p>Joining her is Pettit, a veteran NASA astronaut known for his long-duration missions aboard the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/16748-international-space-station.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/16748-international-space-station.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/16748-international-space-station.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">International Space Station<\/a> and his approach to science in microgravity. Pettit has spent more than a year in space across multiple missions, conducting experiments ranging from fluid physics to orbital photography, while also gaining a following for his striking images of Earth and the cosmos taken from orbit. His work blends engineering, science and creativity, offering a unique perspective on life and research in space.<\/p>\n<p>Other notable speakers in <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.neafexpo.com\/speakers\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.neafexpo.com\/speakers\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">this year&#8217;s lineup<\/a> include veteran astronauts and leading space science voices, such as Robert Gibson (Hoot Gibson), Michelle Thaller, Ken Kremer, David McComas, Mike Ciannilli, Jim Garvin, Gerry Griffin and Kevin Schindler.
