Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> is apologizing for confusing a fan\u2019s cultural chanting as a yodel during her 2026 Coachella headliner set.<\/p>\n

There was a moment during the 25-year-old pop star\u2019s performance where she noticed a fan doing a cry known as a \u201cZaghrouta,\u201d a celebratory chant in Arabic.<\/p>\n

Sabrina mistook it as a yodeling. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think I heard someone yodel. Is that what you\u2019re doing?\u201d she asked while sitting at the piano for her \u201cWe Almost Broke Up Again Last Night\u201d performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t like it,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

During the exchange, the fan tried explaining that the cry was their \u201cculture\u201d and a \u201ccall of celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabrina replied, \u201cThat\u2019s your culture, is yodeling?\u201d and later asked, \u201cIs this Burning Man? What\u2019s going on? This is weird.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the Grammy nominee took to X to respond to a post about it. A user shared the clip and wrote, \u201csabrina saying that she doesn\u2019t like a cultural arabic cheer\u2026 this is so insensitive and islamophobic. i am very disappointed in her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cSugar Talking\u201d singer quoted it to respond, \u201cmy apologies i didn\u2019t see this person with my eyes and couldn\u2019t hear clearly. my reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. could have handled it better! now i know what a Zaghrouta is! I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.\u201d<\/p>\n
