{"id":598937,"date":"2026-04-12T10:50:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T10:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/598937\/"},"modified":"2026-04-12T10:50:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T10:50:16","slug":"surrey-council-to-vote-on-4-2m-in-public-works-contracts-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/598937\/","title":{"rendered":"Surrey council to vote on $4.2M in public works contracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              Surrey council to vote on $4.2M in public works contracts<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 3:00 pm Friday, April 10, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Surrey council will vote on more than $4.2 million in public works contracts on Monday, with a collective spending limit set at $5.2 million.<\/p>\n<p>First up will be a $868,079.10 contract for Sutton Road Marking Ltd. for pavement marking services.<\/p>\n<p>Surrey\u2019s general manager of engineering Scott Neuman said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surrey.ca\/sites\/default\/files\/corporate-reports\/CR_2026-R061.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">corporate report<\/a> coming before council that this annual pavement marking services contract provides labour, material and equipment for pavement markings throughout Surrey \u201cincluding centre lines, lane lines, cycle lanes, crosswalks, stop bars, symbols, and other markings required for safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The work is expected to be done by November.<\/p>\n<p>Next up, council will vote on increasing the spending limit by $1,727,250 \u2013 to $1,974,000 from $246,750 \u2013 for Maple Leaf Modular to supply and install up to eight outdoor public washrooms at a unit cost of $246,750.<\/p>\n<p>Each facility will include two \u201csingle-user\u201d washroom compartments, one of which will be a fully accessible universal washroom, and a mechanical\/janitorial room, to be made out of \u201cindustrial grade, vandal-resistant materials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Council will also vote Monday on a $1,651,363.41 contract for Professional Mechanical Ltd. for a mechanical heat pump and boiler replacement project for the Cloverdale Recreation Centre as well as a $239,919.75 contract for PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. for pre-construction services related to phase one of the Centre Block development downtown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Surrey council to vote on $4.2M in public works contracts Published 3:00 pm Friday, April 10, 2026 Surrey&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":597376,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[194299],"tags":[49,48,87674],"class_list":["post-598937","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-surrey","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-surrey"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/598937","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=598937"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/598937\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/597376"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=598937"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=598937"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=598937"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
