Phoebe Dynevor<\/a> broke her silence on why she hasn\u2019t returned to Bridgerton<\/a> when she revealed she hasn\u2019t been asked to come back.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the first season came out, they didn\u2019t know what they needed to put in play,\u201d Dynevor, 30, told Collider<\/a> on Saturday. April 11. \u201cWe were the ones that got away \u2014 in a certain way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dynevor, who shared the screen in season 1 with <\/a>Reg\u00e9-Jean Page<\/a>, addressed the chances she could reprise the role of Daphne, adding, \u201cI can only speak for myself, I would always come back if I was asked.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI have not received a call. When I get that call, I will be there if I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Francesca and Michaela gender swap twist isn\u2019t the only change from the Bridgerton book series that have left some fans dissatisfied. Based on Julia Quinn\u2018s book series, Bridgerton centers around members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London. Each season is based on a different Bridgerton\u2019s love [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Dynevor\u2019s insight comes after showrunner<\/a> Jess Brownell hinted at a possible return for Daphne and Simon (Page).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would love to potentially have them back at some point, but I think, logistically, we want to make sure we bring them back when we have something really meaty for them,\u201d she told Variety in February. \u201cAnd to have them come back to say a line at a funeral [in season 4] and just prove that they were there, it wouldn\u2019t feel right for many reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cSo I think in my mind, the camera doesn\u2019t capture everything. They\u2019re hypothetically there [this season] \u2014 it\u2019s television. But we would love to find a time to bring everyone back at some point in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brownell also addressed rumors that Daphne and Simon would be recast.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not interested in recasting the characters,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think it would feel like a disservice to everything Reg\u00e9 and Phoebe set up in season 1, and all the beautiful work they put into those characters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bridgerton, which is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, follows the members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London. Season 1 focused on Daphne\u2019s unexpected connection with Simon.<\/p>\n

After the show premiered, viewers fell in love with Page, 38, and his character, which made his departure that much more shocking. Netflix announced in April 2021 that Page would not be reprising his role as the Duke of Hastings despite plans for Daphne to appear in future seasons.<\/p>\n

That same month, Page noted that Simon had always been pitched to him as a condensed role, telling Variety, \u201cIt\u2019s a one-season arc. It\u2019s going to have a beginning, middle, end \u2014 give us a year. [I thought] \u2018That\u2019s interesting,\u2019 because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Page stood by his decision<\/a> even though fans have publicly voiced their disappointment about not getting to see more of Simon\u2019s story. Season 2 still featured several appearances from Daphne, who was accompanied by her and Simon\u2019s son, Auggie.<\/p>\n

However, Dynevor later confirmed her own exit from the series, which didn\u2019t appear to be her choice. \u201cSadly [I\u2019m] not in season 3. Potentially in the future. But season 3, I\u2019m just excited to watch as a viewer,\u201d she told Screen Rant in January 2023 about not being called back to film.<\/p>\n
