Jeep has announced it will unveil a new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk later this year. Details are scarce now, but it will likely feature upgrades and enhancements similar to those the 2023 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk received. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Jeep<\/a> added underbody skid plates, an air suspension, a disconnecting front anti-sway bar, and an electronic limited-slip differential to that vehicle. The brand offered it exclusively with its 2.0-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid, but Stellantis announced earlier this year it would be killing its PHEVs<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n The teaser image doesn\u2019t reveal much, but a pair of red tow hooks is visible poking through the lower bumper, which appears more aggressive than what\u2019s available now on the standard Grand Cherokee<\/a>. \u00a0There are also red stripes on the hood that read “Trailhawk.” \u00a0<\/p>\n With the plug-in powertrain dead, we expect the new Trailhawk will utilize the Grand Cherokee\u2019s new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Hurricane engine. The Hurricane 4 Turbo<\/a> produces 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. Jeep still offers the SUV with the 3.6-liter V6, but that\u2019s reserved for the base model. \u00a0<\/p>\n We don\u2019t know exactly when Jeep will unveil the GCT, but the automaker says it will share more soon.<\/p>\n Motor1\u2019s Take: We hope the new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is not only a first step toward a new Cherokee Trailhawk, but also a new high-performance Trackhawk.
