{"id":600595,"date":"2026-04-13T06:01:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T06:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/600595\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T06:01:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T06:01:12","slug":"apple-reportedly-testing-four-designs-for-upcoming-smart-glasses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/600595\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple reportedly testing four designs for upcoming smart glasses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple plans to sell its first smart glasses in 2027, with a possible unveiling at the end of this year, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2026-04-12\/apple-ai-smart-glasses-features-styles-colors-cameras-giannandrea-leaving-mnvtz4yg\" target=\"_blank\">according to Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gurman has been reporting steadily on the evolution of the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/05\/23\/apple-could-launch-ai-powered-smart-glasses-in-2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">smart glasses strategy<\/a>, but now he has more details about how they\u2019ll look \u2014 he said Apple is testing four designs, and could ultimately launch with some or all of them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those designs reportedly include a large rectangular frame, a slimmer rectangular frame (similar to the glasses worn by CEO Tim Cook), a larger oval or circular frame, and a smaller oval or circular frame. Apple is also considering different colors including black, ocean blue, and light brown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some ways, these glasses are a step back from an ambitious plan that once called for Apple to launch a variety of mixed and augmented reality devices \u2014 a plan that already stumbled with product delays and <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/10\/24\/apple-vision-pro-production-reportedly-scaled-back-due-to-disappointing-demand\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the lackluster reception of the Vision Pro<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These glasses, meanwhile, sound closer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/03\/31\/meta-launches-two-new-ray-ban-glasses-designed-for-prescription-wearers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Meta\u2019s Ray-Ban glasses<\/a>.
