The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have hired Lee Hull as their receivers coach.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old was most recently the head coach at Delaware State University, where he posted a 2-21 record over two years with the Hornets. He also served as the head coach for two seasons at Morgan State where he went 12-12 and was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2014.<\/p>\n

Hull most notably served as the receivers coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 2016. The team went 8-8 that season with a receiver group that included T. Y. Hilton, Phillip Dorsett, and Donte Moncrief. Hilton led the NFL in receiving yardage that year, making 91 receptions for 1,448 yards and six touchdowns.<\/p>\n

The native of Vineland, N.J. spent over 15 years as a receivers coach at the collegiate level, including stops at Holy Cross (1998-2002), Oregon State (2003-07), and Maryland (2008-13).<\/p>\n

Hull played three seasons in the CFL as a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts. He caught 48 passes for 756 yards over 19 career games and scored a touchdown for the Blue Bombers in the 78th Grey Cup. He also tied with nine other players for the all-time league record for most kickoff returns in a single game (nine).<\/p>\n

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were active in free agency, signing receivers Tommy Nield and Tim White, offensive lineman Jarell Broxton, defensive lineman Jake Ceresna, linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox, and defensive back Jonathan Moxey. The team also suffered a few departures, including receiver Keric Wheatfall (Hamilton Tiger-Cats) and defensive lineman James Vaughters (Saskatchewan Roughriders). Jake Thomas, the team\u2019s longest-tenured player, retired to become its defensive line coach.<\/p>\n

The Blue Bombers hold the fourth overall pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. All CFL training camps are scheduled to open on May 10. Winnipeg will play its first preseason game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday, May 23 and its regular-season game against the Calgary Stampeders on Friday, June 5.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Winnipeg finished fourth in the West Division standings with a 10-8 record, qualifying for the playoffs as the crossover team before losing the East Semi-Final to the Montreal Alouettes.<\/p>\n
