Users are reporting faster-than-normal battery drain on their Galaxy Watches, with some reporting it occurred after a recent update. Others suggest it\u2019s a Google Play Services issue.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy Watch is supposed to be one of the best wearables for battery life. The Watch Ultra<\/a>, for instance, can get three or four days on a single charge, while lifestyle models like the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic can get a little less. Still, Samsung\u2019s latest release shouldn\u2019t be getting much less.<\/p>\n

According to a few Reddit<\/a> users, many are experiencing an uptick in battery drain after the most recent security update (via Android Authority<\/a>). The original post author shared a screenshot of their battery activity, and Google Play Services sits at the top with a 16.5% share of power amongst apps that seem to take much less.<\/p>\n

Others in the thread note their Galaxy Watch 6, 7, 8, and Ultra models are displaying the same thing, and total battery life has taken a plunge. But there\u2019s also a good portion of users stating that their battery life has not changed<\/a> recently, and some have even shared Google Play Services stats at minimal battery usage.<\/p>\n

The general advice for users experiencing this would be to clear the cache for Google Play Services and restart the Galaxy Watch. If that doesn\u2019t fix it, it\u2019s possible a recent update changed something. It\u2019s also possible that a server-side update could be causing Google Play Services to use more power than necessary.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear which devices are being affected, because the issue doesn\u2019t seem to be unique to any one model or region. It\u2019s possible this change rolled out with Samsung\u2019s blood pressure update<\/a>.<\/p>\n
