Oilers injury update: Draisaitl expected to return \u2018sometime\u2019 in Round 1, Hyman could play Thursday<\/p>\n

Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman both returned to practice as the team took to Rogers Place ice for Monday\u2019s morning skate, taking line rushes as part of the Oilers\u2019 fifth line alongside Owen Michaels, who the team signed to an entry-level contract<\/a> earlier this month.Neither is expected to play Monday against the Colorado Avalanche, nor are Max Jones and Jason Dickinson, both of whom were injured during the Oilers\u2019 three-game road trip last week. Isaac Howard, who was recalled by the team Sunday, skated on the Oilers\u2019 second line<\/a> alongside Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jack Roslovic, while Connor Ingram is slated to get the start.<\/p>\n

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch provided some injury updates for the players still out of the lineup. Hyman isn\u2019t expected to return Monday, but and is considered questionable Thursday night against the Vancouver Canucks. Draisaitl, meanwhile, is expected to return \u2018sometime\u2019 in Round 1.<\/p>\n

Dickinson, who was injured in a game against the San Jose Sharks last week, blocking a shot that kept him out of Saturday\u2019s game against the Los Angeles Kings, won\u2019t play in either of the final two regular-season games. Jones, meanwhile, was shaken up in the Kings\u2019 game, falling awkwardly on his third shift, needing help off the ice. He\u2019s expected to be out three-to-four weeks.<\/p>\n

Vasily Podkolzin and Matt Savoie remained on the Oilers\u2019 top line, while Adam Henrique centred Kasperi Kapanen and Curits Lazar on the third line. Josh Samanski centred the fourth line alongside Colton Dach and Trent Frederic, while Edmonton\u2019s defensive pairings remained the same. Mattias Ekholm and Evan Bouchard remained on the top pairing, Darnell Nurse and Connor Murphy on the second pairing, and Jake Walman and Ty Emberson on the third pair.<\/p>\n
