One man has been charged in connection with a \u201ctargeted shooting\u201d in Oakville earlier this year and police say clues that could lead them to other suspects might be found in Mississauga.<\/p>\n
Halton Regional Police said on Monday they\u2019ve made an arrest and laid multiple charges in relation to the early morning violent incident on Sunday, March 29 that sent a male victim to hospital with injuries that weren\u2019t life threatening.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The shooting occurred at around 5:30 a.m. in the area of Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line in Oakville\u2019s west end, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jayon Burgher, 18, of Barrie, is charged with the following:<\/p>\n
Attempt murder
\nCareless use of a firearm
\nUnauthorized possession of a firearm
\nPoint a firearm
\nUse a firearm while committing an offence
\nDischarge firearm with intent
\nPossession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose<\/p>\n
He\u2019s being held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton, according to police.<\/p>\n
Investigators say they continue to search for additional suspects and are asking anyone with information to contact the Major Crime Bureau at 905-825-4777 or the bureau\u2019s tip line at 905-825-4776. Anonymous tips can also be called into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.<\/p>\n
Detectives said earlier they believe the shooting to be targeted.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police are still seeking witnesses who may have seen the shooting or who may possess relevant dashcam footage from the area.<\/p>\n
Investigators are specifically requesting dashcam video that was recorded between 5 and 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 29 in the following locations:<\/p>\n
Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line, Oakville.
\nLakeshore Road between Fourth Line and Southdown Road, Mississauga.
\nFord Drive from Lakeshore Road to the QEW.
\nWinston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga, from Lakeshore Road to the QEW.<\/p>\n
