Television star and NASCAR racer Frankie Muniz crashed out during a truck race hours after the revival of his show Malcolm in the Middle: Life\u2019s Still Unfair, the Hollywood Reporter said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Muniz was racing at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee when he crashed his Malcolm in the Middle-themed Ford F-150 in a wreck<\/a> with Tyler Reif and Timmy Hill. The crash took him out of the race, but no serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Before the crash, Muniz said he was feeling pretty confident about the race.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually thought we were running pretty good. I felt pretty quick,\u201d he told Fox Sports<\/a>. \u201cWe were in the lucky dog position, so I was just trying to do some good lap times. I think there was like 10 to go on the stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think (Reif) maybe got impatient, I don\u2019t know. He was yelling at me in there, saying I\u2019m a lapper, like I shouldn\u2019t be racing. I\u2019m in the lucky dog position. I\u2019m fighting. I belong on that racetrack just as much as he does, just as much as the leaders do. I\u2019m not going to back down on that. I haven\u2019t seen a replay, but based on what I felt, I went to the middle of the track. I didn\u2019t track all the way out to show that I was going to go back to the bottom.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the crash might have been a useful way to promote the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully it got TV time,\u201d he said. \u201cHopefully people are going to watch the Malcolm in the Middle reboot right after this race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Malcolm in the Middle: Life\u2019s Still Unfair<\/a> debuted on Hulu and Disney+ on Friday night. The original series ran from 2000 to 2006 on Fox, and starred Muniz alongside Bryan Cranston before he went on to his career-defining role as teacher-turned-drug kingpin Walter White in the Emmy-winning series Breaking Bad. The new series follows Malcolm, who grew up as a genius middle child in a dysfunctional, socially awkward family, as an adult with a\u00a0 girlfriend and a daughter. He\u2019s distanced himself from his family but must return home for his parents 40th wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n
