The goal is to convince victims to transfer funds or share sensitive information.<\/p>\n<p data-async=\"\">According to the <a data-evt-val=\"{\" control_fields=\"\" link=\"\" anti-fraud=\"\" centre=\"\" data-evt=\"click\" data-evt-typ=\"click\" href=\"https:\/\/antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca\/index-eng.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre<\/a>, Canadians reported losing $67.9 million to spear phishing scams in 2025, highlighting the growing impact of these schemes.<\/p>\n<p>Police note that attackers often go to great lengths to make their communications appear legitimate.
