{"id":602485,"date":"2026-04-14T02:22:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T02:22:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/602485\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T02:22:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T02:22:13","slug":"milton-man-charged-after-toronto-parking-enforcement-officer-assaulted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/602485\/","title":{"rendered":"Milton man charged after Toronto parking enforcement officer assaulted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A man from Milton has been charged after a parking enforcement officer (PEO) was assaulted in downtown Toronto over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The incident happened on April 11, near Front Street West and Bay Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Toronto police say a PEO was working in that area just before 6 p.m. and had issued a parking violation notice to a male\u2019s vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">They say the male then approached the officer and \u201cbegan to use profane language\u201d before allegedly reaching into the PEO\u2019s vehicle and grabbing at the steering wheel. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators allege while reaching into the vehicle, the male assaulted the parking enforcement officer before fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The PEO reported the assault to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">On Monday, the male turned himself into police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Leon Plummer, 50, of Milton, has been charged with assault peace officer.
