Sony Pictures announced at CinemaCon that it will produce an animated feature film adaptation of the hit Playstation game \u201cBloodborne\u201d with Sean McLoughlin, who is known to millions of his YouTube fans as Jacksepticeye, attached as producer.<\/p>\n
Released in 2015, \u201cBloodborne\u201d follows a hunter through a gothic city whose residents are infected with a bloodborne disease that turns them into fearsome beasts. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft\u2019s eldritch horror novels, the series became one of the biggest hits for the Playstation 4 and has become a hit franchise. <\/p>\n
The film\u2019s release date has not been set, but the project shows Sony Pictures\u2019 growing commitment to plumbing the Playstation IP folio for potential film and TV projects, having found huge success with HBO\u2019s adaptation of \u201cThe Last of Us\u201d and previously announcing an adaptation of \u201cHelldivers\u201d directed by Justin Lin. Sony is also developing a live-action \u201cLegend of Zelda\u201d with Nintendo set for release in 2027. <\/p>\n
On his Jacksepticeye channel, McLoughlin has done a popular Let\u2019s Play series of \u201cBloodborne,\u201d drawing more than 48 million subscribers on YouTube with his playthroughs.
