As Rory McIlroy has claimed his second Masters Tournament title<\/a>, CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis has become an unexpected figure in golf\u2019s most persistent off-course rumor mill as speculation about an affair with the Northern Irish golfer abounds.<\/p>\n

Pro golfer Rory McIlroy shares daughter, Poppy, with his wife of more than a decade, Erica Stoll. However, there was trouble in paradise when McIlroy cited irreconcilable differences when he filed for divorce in 2024. Though he ultimately revoked the filing a month later, rumors began to swirl about why divorce was a prospect in the first place. Add to this recipe the ingredient of timing and cheating speculation joined the conversation as McIlroy was repeatedly seen being very friendly with CBS reporter Amanda Balionis at various golf and media events, according to Nicki Swift<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a 2024 interview<\/a>, McIlroy and Balionis appeared to be \u2018very flirty\u2019 as fans and observers described their mannerisms and body language. The rumors of an affair between the two intensified when Balionis appeared in later broadcasts without donning her wedding ring, therefore fueling interest in her own personal life and the health of her marriage. A year later in 2025, a photo of the pair during an on-course interview sparked renewed interest in a potential affair as both Rory McIlroy and Amanda Balionis appeared to be equally as flirty as they\u2019d been in past media engagements. This time, the 2025 picture<\/a> showed the two embracing in a hug that fans believed was more than a professional gesture.<\/p>\n

At the 2026 Masters Tournament, Amanda Balionis was present as a journalist for Golf on CBS and again interviewed McIlroy numerous times.
