Joe Mantello\u2019s revival of Arthur Miller\u2019s \u201cDeath of a Salesman.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\nJoaquin, 23, booked a role in the show opposite showbiz legends Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf. He plays the younger version of Christopher Abbott\u2019s character, Biff.<\/p>\n
During Monday\u2019s \u201cLive,\u201d Ripa, 55, remarked that Consuelos has been \u201cin this game a long time\u201d and is finally making his Broadway debut \u2014 hinting that Joaquin beat his dad to the punch.<\/p>\n
Consuelos, whose show \u201cFallen Angels\u201d opens April 19, took the jab in stride, saying it\u2019s \u201cnot lost\u201d on him that it took 30-plus years to land his big moment on the Great White Way.<\/p>\n

Ripa also joked that Joaquin had some \u201cstrict parameters\u201d for his parents to follow at the after-party for the show that boiled down to one rule: \u201cJust be cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were so cool! I thought we were pretty cool,\u201d Ripa responded, noting they left Joaquin \u201cmostly alone\u201d for the night.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, I did hug him, and I was like, \u2018I\u2019m so proud of you. Congratulations,\u2019\u201d she admitted. \u201cHe was like, \u2018All right. OK.\u2019 Meanwhile, everybody else was allowed to hug him and tell him how proud they were all night, and that was fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ripa and Consuelos, who met on the set of \u201cAll My Children\u201d in 1995 and tied the knot the following year, are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this year.<\/p>\n
