When the 2025-26 season began they raised the Presidents\u2019 Trophy banner to the rafters of Canada Life Centre.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-201899\" class=\"wp-image-201899\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/CS-October-09-2025_2472.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-201899\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo Credit: Colby Spence (Illegal Curve)<\/p>\n<p>While many expected them to take a step back for the 2025-26 season they were still expected to be in the mix despite losing the dynamic Nikolaj Ehlers. We will do a deeper dive on this site and on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCRV4QNGLMrk3f_-XTAlrBoA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Illegal Curve Hockey Show<\/a> when the season officially comes to an end.<\/p>\n<p>But just to illustrate the difference between the 2025-25 version and the 2024-25 one, the Presidents\u2019 Trophy winners didn\u2019t suffer their 22nd defeat of the campaign until April 13th. This year loss 22 on the season came on January 8th.<\/p>\n<p>The Winnipeg Jets were officially eliminated with the L.A. Kings defeat of the Kraken.
