Motorists are being told to avoid a busy traffic area of Brampton because of flooding.<\/p>\n
Reports indicate that water has washed out the south access ramp to Queen Street\/Highway 7 East for those using Highway 410.<\/p>\n
All ramp lanes are closed.<\/p>\n
A massive dump of rain in a very short period has led to the accumulation.<\/p>\n
The rain is expected to continue throughout the day, and more is expected for the rest of the week.<\/p>\n
Environment Canada has issued a series of weather statements and warnings spanning much of the province, including most of the Greater Toronto Area.<\/p>\n
The weather agency said some areas could see as much as 30 millimetres of rain through Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The ground is already near saturation, with little ability to absorb more rainfall, and water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas, it said.<\/p>\n
The agency urged people not to drive through flooded roadways and to watch for washouts in areas near rivers, creeks and other waterways.<\/p>\n
