{"id":603562,"date":"2026-04-14T14:32:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T14:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/603562\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T14:32:34","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T14:32:34","slug":"finnish-president-alexander-stubb-to-meet-with-pm-carney-in-ottawa-this-week-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/603562\/","title":{"rendered":"Finnish President Alexander Stubb to meet with PM Carney in Ottawa this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet in Ottawa this week with Finland\u2019s President Alexander Stubb.<\/p>\n<p>Their visit will mark the first official bilateral meeting between the two leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Carney\u2019s office says Stubb will be in Ottawa on Tuesday and Wednesday, where they will work to deepen trade and defence ties.<\/p>\n<p>Carney says Canada and Finland have an \u201cimmensely strong and growing relationship,\u201d and that he looks forward to hosting Stubb.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister met last month with leaders of Nordic countries, including Stubb, where they pledged to work together to defend the Arctic and their economies.<\/p>\n<p>Carney\u2019s office says the country\u2019s relationship is \u201cdynamic and growing,\u201d and that in an \u201cincreasingly dangerous and uncertain world, Canada is focused on attracting investments and deepening ties with \u201creliable partners.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet in Ottawa this week with Finland\u2019s President Alexander Stubb.
