\n\tUPDATED with NASA livestream: The media is gearing up for tonight\u2019s historic return of Artemis II<\/a> following a 10-day trip around the moon. Here\u2019s a sampling of the planned coverage. Additionally, you can watch the NASA livestream of the reentry and splashdown, targeted for 8:07 p.m. EDT\/5:07 p.m. PDT, above.<\/p>\n

\n\tCBS<\/a> News will air Artemis II Return To Earth, a live one-hour special, Friday at 7:30 pm ET on the\u00a0CBS\u00a0Television Network,\u00a0CBS\u00a0News 24\/7 and\u00a0CBSNews.com.<\/p>\n

\n\tJericka Duncan will anchor the special, joined by astronaut\u00a0Suni Williams and Lt. Col Dave Mahan in New York,\u00a0CBS\u00a0News\u2019 Mark Strassmann and Bill Harwood in Houston, astronaut Nick Hague in Washington, D.C., and\u00a0CBS\u00a0News\u2019 Carter Evans in San Diego.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring re-entry the capsule will shed its service module and dive toward Earth at 24,000 miles per hour. Starting at 12,000 feet, a series of 11 parachutes\u00a0will unfurl to slow the capsule from several hundred miles-per-hour to a gradual 17\u201320 mph\u00a0for splashdown in the Pacific Ocean off San Diego. It\u2019s targeted for 8:07 p.m. EDT\/5:07 p.m. PDT.<\/p>\n

\n\tTo accommodate the special, CBS has slightly shifted the night\u2019s primetime schedule (except West Coast) for Sheriff Country, Fire Country and Boston Blue, pushing their start times up a half hour.<\/p>\n

\n\tSheriff Country will air from 8:30-9:30 pm ET, followed by Fire Country at 9:30 pm ET and Boston Blue at 10:30 pm ET.<\/p>\n

\n\tHere is the revised primetime lineup, except on the West Coast:<\/p>\n

\n\tNBC News\u2019 Gadi Schwartz will anchor a special network report on NBC & NBC News NOW at 7:30 pm ET. He will joined by Tom Costello along with former astronauts Steve Robinson, Drew Feustel and Wendy Lawrence.<\/p>\n

\n\tNOW will also air a pretaped special during the weekend, starting Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET. Hosted by Schwartz,\u00a0The Artemis II: Mission Around Moon\u00a0will take viewers\u00a0inside Artemis II\u2019s historic mission.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe special will air on\u00a0the West Coast tonight on the network at 9:30 pm PT.<\/p>\n

\n\tNBCNews.com will kick off its live blog this afternoon as the astronauts prepare for reentry. <\/p>\n

\n\tABC\u2019s Celebrity Jeopardy! All Stars will air a repeat in all time zones, replacing the previously announced original episode following Artemis II coverage. The repeat will join in progress in ET\/CT and air in full in PT\/MT. 20\/20 will air in its normal pattern following Celebrity Jeopardy! All Stars.<\/p>\n

\n\tFox News<\/a> Channel will feature live coverage across its primetime programming on Friday. Senior correspondent Jonathan Serrie will report live throughout the night from Johnson Space Center in Texas and the network will take live feed from NASA\u2019s coverage of Artemis II\u2019s return. Fox Nation will also livestream NASA\u2019s coverage of the return to earth beginning at 11:30 AM\/ET, while Fox News Digital will provide readers with real-time updates via a live blog throughout the day as the mission progresses.<\/p>\n

\n\tAdditionally, Fox Weather has set Artemis: Return to Earth, a three-hour special at 7 pm ET. It will be hosted by meteorologists Ian Oliver and Stephen Morgan and will feature live reporting from correspondent Brandy Cambell on the ground in California.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tNewsNation<\/a> will present special live breaking\u00a0news\u00a0coverage of Artemis II return throughout the day Friday. Hosted by Chris Cuomo, the coverage will culminate in a special edition of\u00a0Cuomo\u00a0at 8 p.m. ET, featuring live footage of the Orion capsule\u2019s splashdown at approximately 8:07 p.m. ET. Live, real-time updates of the mission\u2019s completion will continue across\u00a0NewsNation programming, including\u00a0On Balance with Leland Vittert\u00a0at 9 p.m. ET\u00a0Katie Pavlich Tonight\u00a0at 10 p.m. ET, and\u00a0Jesse Weber Live\u00a0at 11 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n

\n\tNational correspondent Nancy Loo will be reporting from San Diego, national correspondent Xavier Walton from NASA\u2019s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, along with contributions from former astronauts and leading space experts.<\/p>\n

\n\tA livestream of the return will be available via the\u00a0NewsNation app and website.\u00a0Additionally,\u00a0NewsNation\u2019s sister site\u00a0The Hill\u2019s live stream will carry WFLA-TV\u2019s splashdown.<\/p>\n

\n\tNetflix begins coverage at 6:30 p.m. EDT\/3:30 p.m. PDT, with a live broadcast featuring the Artemis II recovery team, including the crew surgeon, the USS John P. Murtha captain, and a US Navy diver, among others.
