Panaracer just rolled out its latest Japan-made tire, the all-new GRAVELKING ZX, inspired by the demands of modern gravel racing and designed for riders chasing speed across mixed-surface routes. They say it meets the need for a tire that can balance speed, grip, and durability across all terrain, delivering low rolling resistance and confident handling in any conditions.<\/p>\n

The GRAVELKING ZX sports a unique three-zone tread pattern. There\u2019s a smooth center tread, an inner edge with a transitional tread that engages when braking and leaning into corners, and an outer edge with aggressive side lugs designed to provide the traction for loose gravel corners, technical descents, and rougher surfaces. In Panaracer\u2019s words, \u201cTogether, these three zones allow the ZX to maintain speed where it matters most while delivering the feel and confidence gravel riders expect.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new tires also feature the brand\u2019s proprietary ZSG Gravel compound, which uses a single compound formulation that they say maintains predictable ride characteristics and long-term durability. The new compound is paired with TuffTex and BeadLock technologies, which help reduce damage from sharp gravel, simplify installation, and keep the bead stable at low pressures.<\/p>\n

When all models are released, the GRAVELKING ZX will be offered in 700c sizes from 35 to 55mm. For now, only the 700 x 45\/50mm tires are available, with other sizes (and additional versions) to follow throughout 2026. The new tires are offered in Black\/Black or Black\/Brown, and the ZX version costs $64.99 (\u00a354.99\/\u20ac59.99). The claimed ZX tire weights are 560 grams for 45mm and 640 grams for 50mm. On my scale, the two 700 x 50mm tires I just received weigh in at 625 and 628 grams.<\/p>\n
