The Colombian, a local coffee shop, was named in the Top 100 Best Coffee Shops in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean<\/a>. In this list, The Colombian managed to break the top 15 coffee shops, being named exactly 15th on the list. They were named in this list alongside 14 other Canadian shops, but they were the only ones from Edmonton to be listed.<\/p>\n As for the ranking itself, it looks at coffee quality, barista expertise, customer service, innovation, ambience, sustainability, food and pastry, consistency, and community impact.<\/p>\n It\u2019s an honour to be named, and we couldn\u2019t be prouder of Edmonton representing the coffee community.<\/p>\n \u201cOur co-founder Kristin flew to San Diego for the World of Coffee to hear it announced in person,\u201d the team said on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cA ballroom full of coffee people from across the continent. The energy was something else.\u201d<\/p>\n If you aren\u2019t too familiar with The Colombian, it\u2019s an Edmonton local coffee shop with six locations in the area, one more location in Saskatoon, as well as a coffee truck. Its Glenora location is its original, providing the best example of the excellent service and food it provides.<\/p>\n The roastery launched in 2017 at local farmers\u2019 markets, expanded in 2018 into a full-service coffee shop after co-founders Santiago and Kristin discovered their passion in Colombia on their family coffee farm, \u201cFinca Santa Rita.\u201d Now, while they continue to support their family coffee farm from afar, they focus on working with small producers who provide them with exceptional quality coffee.<\/p>\n All in all, not only do they have amazing coffee, but they source it sustainably, and with care you won\u2019t see from every shop.<\/p>\n There\u2019s definitely a reason it was named one of the best on the continent.
