\n\tFood Network star Guy Fieri<\/a>, facing a social-media backlash over his friendly greeting of controversial \u201cmanosphere\u201d influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate at a recent UFC fight, released a statement about the exchange \u2014 in which he claimed he doesn\u2019t actually know them and does not support them \u201cin any way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn video and photos shared on social media, the celebrity TV chef was seen embracing the brothers at UFC 327 at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, April 11 (a fight also attended by President Donald Trump). In one video clip\u00a0<\/a>posted by BroBible sports editor Jorge Alonso, Fieri is seen shaking hands with Andrew Tate<\/a> and bumping shoulders with him.<\/p>\n

\n\tFieri, in a post on X<\/a> Tuesday, wrote: \u201cI\u2019m seeing all of your comments about the photo from Saturday\u2019s UFC event and all I can say is that I\u2019m devastated. I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that\u2019s when the exchanged happened. I did not know them or about them before that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFieri added: \u201cI\u2019ll never pretend to be a perfect person but let me be crystal clear, I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAndrew and Tristan Tate are under criminal investigation in multiple countries, including in the U.K., where the brothers are facing criminal charges of rape and trafficking, according to the New York Times<\/a>. Earlier this month, a court in Romania lifted \u201call preventative judicial control measures against\u201d the Tate brothers Tristan \u201cpending a criminal \u200binvestigation on accusations of human trafficking, among others,\u201d Reuters reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Tate brothers, both \u200bformer kickboxers with dual U.S.-British citizenship, have denied all wrongdoing in the criminal charges. Andrew Tate is a \u201cself-described misogynist\u201d who has \u201cgained millions of online fans by promoting an \u200bultra-masculine lifestyle that critics say denigrates women,\u201d per the Reuters report.<\/p>\n

\n\tFieri, who has been affiliated with Food Network since 2006, is the host of \u201cDiners, Drive-Ins and Dives\u201d and \u201cGuy\u2019s Grocery Games\u201d and he also guest judges on \u201cFood Network Star,\u201d according to the network\u2019s bio for him.<\/p>\n
