CALGARY \u2014 Gabriel Landeskog<\/a> scored the go-ahead goal at 15:07 of the third period on Tuesday night to lead the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> to a 3-1 NHL victory over the Calgary Flames<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Artturi Lehkonen<\/a> and Nathan Mackinnon, with his league-leading 53rd goal into an empty net, also scored for Colorado (54-16-11). Calgary native, Cale Makar<\/a>, back in the Avalanche\u2019s lineup after missing seven games with an upper-body injury, assisted on all three goals.<\/p>\n

The Avs won their final eight road games of the season and were 14-1-0 in their last 15 away from Ball Arena. Colorado\u2019s 29-7-5 road mark on the season is a franchise best. Their 119 points in 81 games ties the franchise record set in 2021-22.<\/p>\n

Blake Coleman<\/a>, with his 20th goal, scored for Calgary (33-39-9). The Flames eight-game (7-0-1) home-ice point streak came to an end.<\/p>\n

MacKenzie Blackwood made 30 saves for the win. He improved to 23-10-2.<\/p>\n

Dustin Wolf<\/a> made 36 saves for the Flames and falls to 23-29-3.<\/p>\n

After a scoreless first period, Calgary opened the scoring 7:22 into the second period when Coleman \u2014 while being knocked down from behind \u2014 was still able to get his stick on Mikael Backlund<\/a>\u2019s low shot, deflecting it straight up under the crossbar.<\/p>\n

Four minutes later, Colorado drew even when Lehkonen broke in off the far boards and buried Cale Makar<\/a>\u2019s perfect cross-ice pass from the opposite corner.<\/p>\n
