Bandai Namco Entertainment<\/a> announced on Wednesday that Kaeru Ch\u014dh\u014dkiteki<\/a>‘s Witch and Mercenary<\/a> (Majo to Y\u014dhei) light novel series will get a television anime adaptation that will premiere on the NTV<\/a> channel in 2027. The company revealed the anime’s teaser visual, teaser promotional video, main cast, and staff members.<\/p>\n

Shinpei Ezaki<\/a> (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-<\/a>,\u00a0Hanebad!<\/a>,\u00a0Monster Strike The Movie<\/a>) is directing the anime at 8-Bit<\/a>. Taishirou Tanimura<\/a> (Ace of Diamond<\/a>,\u00a0Sakura Trick<\/a> episode scripts) is in charge of series scripts, Keita Matsumoto<\/a> (Bungaku Sh\u014djo<\/a> film,\u00a0Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-<\/a>,\u00a0Shining Hearts<\/a>) is designing the characters, Akiko Fujita<\/a> (Dorohedoro<\/a>, The Elusive Samurai<\/a>,\u00a0Jujutsu Kaisen<\/a>) is the sound director, and Rei Ishizuka<\/a> (A Couple of Cuckoos<\/a>,\u00a0With You and the Rain<\/a>,\u00a0PriPara<\/a>) is composing the music at Lantis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The anime’s official website also launched a voice drama and a series of short stories both written under the supervision of\u00a0Ch\u014dh\u014dkiteki, which will be released regularly.<\/p>\n

Witch and Mercenary\u00a0voice drama<\/p>\n

Ch\u014dh\u014dkiteki began serializing<\/a> the story on the Sh\u014dsetsuka ni Nar\u014d website in June 2021, and ended it in December 2022. Micro Magazine<\/a> published the first print volume with illustrations by Bench Kanase<\/a> in May 2023. Micro Magazine published the seventh volume on January 20.<\/p>\n

Makoto Miyagi<\/a> launched a manga adaptation of the story on Kodansha<\/a>‘s Magazine Pocket<\/a> manga app in January 2024. Kodansha’s K MANGA<\/a> service is publishing the manga in English.<\/p>\n
