Flooding closed lanes on Highway 427 on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
The three right express southbound lanes of the highway were closed south of Highway 401, at Eringate Drive, the Ministry of Transportation said on the 511 page.<\/p>\n
The lanes were closed around 7:40 a.m., but have since reopened.<\/p>\n
Rain has caused flooding across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, the Ontario Provincial Police said on X.<\/p>\n
Crews were clearing catch basins to allow the water to drain on Highway 427, police said just after 9 a.m. <\/p>\n
The OPP have responded to over 80 crashes in the GTHA in the past 24 hours, the OPP added.<\/p>\n
The flooding comes after heavy rain and thunderstorms<\/a> moved through the area on Tuesday.<\/p>\n The wet weather is expected to continue with 5 to 10 millimetres of rain forecast for Wednesday, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
