{"id":605898,"date":"2026-04-15T15:04:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T15:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/605898\/"},"modified":"2026-04-15T15:04:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T15:04:08","slug":"wrestlemania-41-canelo-crawford-led-to-massive-economic-benefit-for-las-vegas-last-year-boxing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/605898\/","title":{"rendered":"WrestleMania 41, Canelo-Crawford led to massive economic benefit for Las Vegas last year | Boxing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saul \u201cCanelo\u201d Alvarez-Terence Crawford boxing match and WrestleMania 41 last year generated a $626 million economic impact for Las Vegas, TKO announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>TKO, the parent company of WWE and the UFC, said WrestleMania 41 drew a two-day announced attendance of 124,693 at Allegiant Stadium April 19-20, 2025, and saw an economic boon to the tune of $322 million.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/neon.reviewjournal.com\/entertainment\/wrestlemania-41-in-las-vegas-most-successful-event-in-wwe-history-3311491\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">WrestleMania 41 generated $322 million<\/a> in total economic output, with nearly $123 million in salaries and wages paid, supporting 2,635 local jobs, according to TKO.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day spectacle saw $17.3 million in taxes paid by TKO and taxes on visitor spending.<\/p>\n<p>Of the attendees of WrestleMania, 90 percent were from out of town and 22 percent were international.<\/p>\n<p>WWE\u2019s premier event returns this weekend with WrestleMania 42, slated to occur at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The Alvarez-Crawford bout held Sept. 13, 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/sports\/boxing\/terence-crawford-stuns-canelo-alvarez-wins-by-unanimous-decision-3448135\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">had an announced crowd of 70,482,<\/a> making it the most attended boxing match in Nevada history, saw a nearly $304 million economic effect, according to TKO. The event was put on via a collaboration between General Entertainment Authority, the Saudi Boxing Federation and TKO.<\/p>\n<p>Canelo-Crawford led to $73.8 million in salaries and wages paid, 1,335 Southern Nevada jobs supported and $15.8 million taxes paid by TKO and taxes on visitor spending.<\/p>\n<p>The event\u2019s attendees mainly hailed form out of the state, with nearly 96 percent of fans being non-local, with 10 percent of attendees being international travelers, TKO said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe findings confirm what we saw firsthand: these were both extraordinarily impactful events for Las Vegas,\u201d Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said in a statement. \u201cMore than a successful fight night and WrestleMania spectacle, these were true destination drivers that compelled fans to travel here for the experience. The results for both events were exceptional, reinforcing both Las Vegas\u2019 position as a premier global stage for major moments and the powerhouse entertainment that TKO produces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The economic and visitor report was compiled by Las Vegas-based research firm Applied Analysis for TKO.<\/p>\n<p>The LVCVA sponsored WrestleMania 41 for $5 million last year and is sponsoring WrestleMania 42 for $6 million this year.
