The restaurants are mainly focused on comfort food and brunch options, such as egg breakfasts, pancakes, bagels and matzoh ball soup.

Now, the team behind Arthur’s is bringing a secretive hidden concept that highlights their bagel creations to Toronto.

The new concept hidden in an alleyway is called Arthur’s Snackette, and they’re honing in on a menu centred around their signature sourdough bagel offerings.

It looks as though they’re offering toasted open faced bagels with a variety of classic toppings, like cream cheese, tomato, lox, jam and good old butter. They should also be starting out by offering some other items like sprinkle cookies.

“This is where it started. With a friend who’s done it before (think Brodflour), and a shared obsession with making deliciously perfect food,” reads the caption to a social media post from Arthur’s Snackette.

“We developed the bagel slowly — high hydration, long fermentation, natural leavening. A crust that shatters. A crumb that stays soft, open, just a little chewy. A slight sour that lingers. Simple, but not easy.”

Within less than two weeks of starting up an Instagram account for Arthur’s Snackette, the account has already gained thousands of followers, and their posts have been getting hundreds up to thousands of likes.

Arthur’s Snackette has moved into a tiny space hidden down an alleyway, where they’re serving bagels out of a window. The little spot was formerly home to micro bakery Becked Goods, as well as neighbourhood coffee shop Jack and Lil’s.

If you want to give Arthur’s Snackette a try, however, you’ll have to put in the effort. For now, the bagel window is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. until they sell out, which has been happening within hours during their first few days open.

“This has been a long time coming. We’re bringing Arthurs to Toronto — in our own way,” reads another caption to a social media post by Arthur’s Snackette.

“Sourdough bagels, made every day. Schmears, the way we like them. A menu that will grow over time.”

Arthur’s Snackette is now open in Toronto at 684 St Clair Ave. W.

INsauga’s Editorial Standards and Policies

Last 30 Days: 26,587 Votes

All Time: 1,286,282 Votes

    1057 VOTES
Do you plan on selling your house this year?

WIN A $100 GIFT CARD

Subscribe to INsauga’s daily email newsletter for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card.

A Montreal restaurant is branching out into Toronto with a brand new weekend-only concept, and the best part…

[194292
49,48,2338
post-606306","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-montreal","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-montreal
["GET
