Thursday\u2019s forecast calls for showers and a risk of thunderstorms in the Greater Toronto Area with wind gusts up to 50 km\/h in some parts of southern Ontario.<\/p>\n
Environment Canada says the morning is expected to bring showers with a chance of thunderstorms in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.<\/p>\n
A special weather statement will be in effect through Thursday, with between 5 mm to 10 mm of rainfall possible in some areas.<\/p>\n
There could also be periods of fog in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Oshawa during the early hours.<\/p>\n
The daytime high will be around 20 C in Mississauga, the weather agency says. Wind gusts could reach up to 40 km\/h in the GTA and up to 50 km\/h in Hamilton in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
Into the evening, conditions are expected to be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers.<\/p>\n
A northwest wind blowing around 20 km\/h is expected to die down in the evening, and the low will be around 8 C.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead to Friday, the wet weather is expected to clear with sunny skies expected and a high of around 20 C. The weekend could see more showers in Mississauga, with a 60 per cent chance in the morning on Saturday and a 40 per cent chance in the evening.<\/p>\n
