{"id":607088,"date":"2026-04-16T03:03:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T03:03:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/607088\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T03:03:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T03:03:08","slug":"unseasonable-storm-produces-funnel-cloud-near-winnipeg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/607088\/","title":{"rendered":"Unseasonable storm produces funnel cloud near Winnipeg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A funnel cloud was spotted just 30 minutes east of Winnipeg on Wednesday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the Weather Centre of Manitoba and eyewitnesses, a funnel cloud poked through some storm clouds on April 15.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At roughly 7:30 p.m., an eyewitness took a photo of a funnel cloud near Anola, MB.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>According to weather experts, seeing a funnel cloud or tornado in April is extremely rare.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The last documented tornado in April in Manitoba was seen near Altona in 1980.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Environment Canada has a <a href=\"https:\/\/chvnradio.com\/articles\/winnipeg-southern-manitoba-brace-for-freezing-rain-as-winter-storm-approaches\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">special weather statement<\/a> out as the temperature will be dropping 23 degrees within 12 hours from Wednesday afternoons high of 18 degrees to a low of minus five by Thursday early morning.
