Megadeth<\/a> frontman Dave Mustaine<\/a> insists that he played a significant role in the musical direction of each and every member of the \u201cBig Four\u201d bands of thrash metal, which also includes Metallica<\/a>, Slayer<\/a>, and Anthrax<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Brazil\u2019s 89 FM A R\u00e1dio Rock, Mustaine brought up Slayer guitarist Kerry King\u2019s brief stint in an early incarnation of Megadeth.<\/p>\n

\u201cKerry and I played together and I showed him how to play Megadeth songs, which was before he started to have all those pivotal records.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I wrote music in Metallica and Megadeth,\u201d added Mustaine, who was an early member of Metallica.<\/p>\n

Regarding Anthrax, Mustaine recalled, \u201cAnd when I met Scott [Ian] and the guys in Anthrax out in New York, same thing happened. The first record was very different from the record they made after they met me and the guys in Metallica.\u201d<\/p>\n

Megadeth\u2019s legendary career is coming to a gradual end. The band released its final album, a self-titled effort, back in January, and have launched a farewell tour which is expected to last a number of years.<\/p>\n
