The Baltimore Ravens unveiled new home, road and alternate uniforms on Thursday evening, marking the first update to their primary look since the 2000 season, though they\u2019re more so an evolution of their previous look than a full redesign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The purple home, white road, black alternate and purple alternate jerseys all feature a simplified number font, as they no longer include a drop shadow or gold accents, though gold is still a focal point of the purple alternate design.<\/p>\n

There aren\u2019t any changes to the Ravens\u2019 primary logo, which still appears on the sides of their black primary helmets, along with their familiar \u201ctalon\u201d stripes that have been prominently featured on their shells since the franchise\u2019s inception.<\/p>\n

A \u201cRavens\u201d wordmark is displayed across the chest of the purple home, black alternate and purple alternate jerseys, while \u201cBaltimore\u201d appears in that same spot on the white road design. It\u2019s the first time the city name has appeared on any of their uniforms.<\/p>\n

The biggest change to Baltimore\u2019s look is the addition of subtle iridescent accents on the outline of the numbers and the feather-like design on the collar, as it the feathers of a raven appear black from a distance but reveal shades of purple, blue and green in the light.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This detail can be also be seen on the secondary shield logo on the black alternate jersey, while the purple home and white road designs continue to display the full-color version. A new purple and gold version is on the sleeves of the purple alternate jersey, as well.<\/p>\n

This, of course, brings to mind the Seattle Seahawks\u2019 \u201cRivalries\u201d uniforms that debuted last season, as they featured iridescent helmets, as well as matching numbers and sound wave effects on the shoulders and down the sides of the pants.<\/p>\n

The design is actually pulled from the team\u2019s original logo set, which appeared on their helmets and sleeves from 1996-98 or \u201999. The inside of the collar, meanwhile, has \u201cPlay Like A Raven\u201d (home and road), \u201cDarkness There And Nothing More\u201d (black alternate) and \u201cPurple Rising\u201d (purple alternate), while the outside has the city or nickname, opposite of the chest.<\/p>\n

The purple alternate uniforms are effectively an update to their Color Rush uniforms, though the \u201cPurple Rising\u201d helmets now include the Ravens\u2019 primary logo on the sides instead of their front-facing logo. They also feature a new pants stripe inspired by the Baltimore and Maryland flags.<\/p>\n

This unique striping pattern also features an iridescent sheen and is featured on Baltimore\u2019s new black, white and purple pants options, though it\u2019s black instead of gold on the primary purple pants and gold on the alternate pants.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Ravens also introduced a new black alternate helmet, which will be worn with the black alternate uniforms, though it could be used to create other combinations after the NFL relaxed the rules last season for team to mix and match alternate helmets with home and road jerseys.<\/p>\n

The matte black helmets have a black facemask display the Ravens\u2019 front-facing logo on the sides, though \u2013 like the \u201ctalon\u201d stripes \u2013 is also black. The logo will likely be difficult to see from a distance, aside from the bright red eyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
