{"id":610283,"date":"2026-04-17T13:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T13:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/610283\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T13:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T13:36:08","slug":"young-person-dead-in-highway-401-crash-in-toronto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/610283\/","title":{"rendered":"Young person dead in Highway 401 crash in Toronto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A young person has died following a crash on Highway 401 in Toronto on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency crews responded to reports of the collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian in the westbound collector lanes of the highway at McCowan Road in Scarborough at approximately 10:25 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police said.<\/p>\n<p>A young person from Toronto was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No further information on the age or gender of the person was released.<\/p>\n<p>No foul play is suspected, the OPP added.<\/p>\n<p>All westbound collector lanes of Highway 401 between Markham Road and McCowan Road were closed for the on-scene investigation, and have since reopened.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation remains ongoing.
