Vancouver Canucks fire Allvin after 4 seasons as general manager<\/p>\n

Patrik Allvin is out as the Vancouver Canucks general manager.<\/p>\n
On Friday morning (April 17), hours after the team officially finished the 2025-26 regular season in last place in the NHL, the Canucks announced Allvin has been \u201crelieved of his duties.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to thank Patrik for all his hard work over the past four seasons,\u201d said Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford via press release. \u201cUnder his guidance, we have accumulated a lot of good young talent, and he has helped us lay the foundation of our rebuild.\u201d<\/p>\n
Allvin joined the Canucks on Jan. 26, 2022, when he was named the 12th general manager in team history. In the 2023-24 season, he led the Canucks to their first playoff appearance and playoff series since the 2019-2020 campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis season was disappointing for everyone in the organization, and we understand how frustrating it was for those who care about the team,\u201d Rutherford added. \u201cMoving forward, our goal will be to continue to bring in younger players who can grow together with our current group and form our next competitive core.\u201d<\/p>\n
