A fight between two men over a cellphone led to a reported stabbing early Friday morning on the platform at Malton GO station in Mississauga\u2019s north end near Toronto Pearson Airport, police said.<\/p>\n

Peel Regional Police told INsauga.com the two men, described as being homeless, became involved in an altercation that led to one man cutting the other with an \u201cedged weapon.\u201d<\/p>\n

The injured man sustained \u201csuperficial wounds\u201d that are not life-threatening, police said, adding the other man fled the area.<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson told INsauga.com a suspect has not yet been apprehended, but added the wanted man is an acquaintance of the victim.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Friday, police described the violent altercation as an \u201cisolated incident\u201d and added there was no threat to the public.<\/p>\n

Peel Paramedics told INsauga.com earlier that the incident, which was initially reported as a stabbing, occurred at around 8 a.m. in the vicinity of the GO station. They said the victim was taken to a trauma centre in serious condition.<\/p>\n

The GO station is located on Derry Road East, just east of Airport Road and steps north of Canada\u2019s biggest and busiest airport.<\/p>\n

A police presence remained in the area throughout Friday morning.<\/p>\n
