UFC Winnipeg<\/a> is less than 24 hours away \u2026<\/p>\n

It all goes down in \u201cWinterpeg\u201d this weekend (Sat., April 18, 2026) inside Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In the main event<\/a>, former UFC Welterweight title challenger, Gilbert Burns, tries to snap his losing streak<\/a> against Canadian knockout artist, Mike Malott.<\/p>\n

In the main card opener, promotional newcomer, Marcio Barbosa, takes on Dennis Buzukja in what looks like a classic showcase fight. This week, I\u2019m locking in Barbosa vs. Buzukja to end, \u201cunder 1.5 rounds.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

This matchup has \u201csetup fight\u201d written all over it. And that\u2019s not a knock on Buzukja, it\u2019s just the reality of where these two are at. Barbosa is one of the most violent and exciting prospects to come off Season 9 of Contender Series<\/a>, and UFC clearly wants to build him up.<\/p>\n

And when Barbosa fights, things end early.<\/p>\n

He owns 14 career knockouts, and every single one of them has come in the first round. There\u2019s no slow start, no feeling-out process \u2014 Barbosa storms forward and looks to take your head off immediately. He\u2019s aggressive to a fault, a wild fighter who is more than willing to put himself in danger just to secure the finish. That makes him must-watch \u2026 and perfect for an \u201cunder\u201d bet.<\/p>\n

On the other side, Buzukja is tough, but his UFC run hasn\u2019t been great. He\u2019s been with the promotion since 2023 and is just 1-3 across four appearances. While he\u2019s shown durability and grit, he has been unable to consistently compete with higher-level opponents.<\/p>\n

Yes, he\u2019s only been knocked out once; however, it\u2019s worth noting that came against Jamall Emmers, who scored his first UFC knockout in that fight back in 2023 (watch highlights<\/a>). That doesn\u2019t exactly inspire confidence heading into a matchup with someone like Barbosa, who specializes in early destruction.<\/p>\n

Also, our lovely writer Andrew Richardson pointed out that Buzukja has absorbed more punches than he\u2019s landed inside the Octagon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stylistically, this is chaos waiting to happen. Barbosa is going to push forward and force exchanges. Buzukja is durable enough to stand his ground. That combination rarely leads to long fights.<\/p>\n

Buzukja is gritty and could try to slow things down with clinch work or cage control, dragging the fight past the early storm. There\u2019s also the chance Barbosa\u2019s wild style backfires, and he walks into a counter hook.<\/p>\n

Still, given Barbosa\u2019s first round finishing rate and the matchup dynamics, Barbosa vs. Buzukja \u201cunder 1.5 rounds<\/a>\u201d feels like one of the cleanest violence bets on UFC\u2019s Winnipeg card.<\/p>\n
