The quarterback\u2019s comments to Pickens to \u201cbet on yourself\u201d by playing on the tag <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/dak-prescotts-comments-about-george-pickens-dance-on-a-fine-line\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">danced on a fine line<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Prescott danced around the subject on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Prescott and Pickens have worked out together this offseason as the wide receiver seeks a long-term deal that seems less likely by the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re just working, no different than I have any offseason,\u201d Prescott said during the Children\u2019s Cancer Fund anniversary gala, via video from Jon Machota of TheAthletic.com. \u201cObviously, first real offseason with George being a part of it, and <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/jonmachota\/status\/2045277827352711361\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">he\u2019s showed up<\/a> and been active, has looked great. So super excited, leaving all that, those contract talks and that off to the front office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys have not started their voluntary offseason program, but Pickens would have to sign the franchise tag, which would pay him $27.298 million on a one-year deal, or a participation agreement. That won\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n<p>Pickens\u2019 only real leverage is to stay away from the team.<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys have until July 15 to sign Pickens to a long-term deal.
