A \u00a335,000\u00a0outdoor gym has been officially opened at\u00a0St Peter\u2019s Recreation Ground.<\/p>\n

The project was part of Thanet council\u2019s\u00a02025-26 financial year budget and was supported by the\u00a0UK Shared Prosperity Fund\u00a0(UKSPF).<\/p>\n

For the 2025-26 extension year, Thanet received \u00a0\u00a3546,557\u00a0from the government to deliver projects focused on \u201cCommunity and Place,\u201d which includes improving local health and wellbeing infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The outdoor gym at\u00a0St Peter\u2019s Rec features a range of modern equipment provided by\u00a0KOMPAN.<\/p>\n

The equipment is designed for both beginners and more advanced users (aged 14+). Each station includes\u00a0QR codes\u00a0that link to instructional videos and exercise plans via the Kompan app.<\/p>\n

Cllr Joanne Bright said: \u201cCllr Matterface and I are incredibly proud that the Labour cabinet at TDC agreed to install the outdoor gym at St Peter\u2019s Recreation Ground.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the Labour administration\u2019s key priorities is to improve our parks and open spaces across Thanet. It was recognised that our park needed more investment to give young people and adults more opportunities to get fit and healthy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gym is a welcome addition to the park along with newly installed goal posts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t wait to see the equipment being put to good use.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those at the official launch included district and town councillors Jenny Matterface and Kristian and Joanne Bright alongside representatives from KOMPAN.<\/p>\n
