Three people were taken to hospital following a townhouse fire in Mississauga on Friday night, with firefighters crediting both neighbours and emergency crews for rapid rescue efforts under heavy smoke and heat conditions.<\/p>\n
RELATED: Townhouse fire leaves victims with serious injuries in Mississauga: police<\/a><\/p>\n Emergency crews were called to a house fire on Fifth Line, near Dundas Street West, shortly after 6 p.m., Peel Regional Police said in a social media post.<\/p>\n Before firefighters arrived, neighbours attempted multiple rescues but were unable to enter the home due to intense heat and smoke. One man in his 50s, who tried to help, was overcome by the conditions near the front entrance.<\/p>\n Fire crews were met with heavy smoke and fire conditions throughout the townhouse upon arrival, with flames primarily concentrated in the basement and main floor.<\/p>\n Firefighters say one occupant was found near the doorway, while two others were located inside the home on the main floor.
