WMU&#8217;s\u00a0best\u00a0round on the Scarlet Course of the Ohio State University Golf Club came on Friday afternoon as the team carded a 316 (+28). The Brown and Gold ended their last regular season tournament with a score of 957 (+93) after rounds of 324-316-317 through the weekend. Western Michigan did place ahead of fellow Mid-American Conference teams Ohio and Toledo in Columbus.<\/p>\n<p>The Broncos were led for the third straight tournament by senior <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/megha-vallabhaneni\/12667\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12667\" target=\"_blank\">Megha Vallabhaneni<\/a> as she placed 38th individually. Vallbhaneni carded two identical rounds of 80 Friday and Saturday while posting her best round of 76 on Friday afternoon for a score of 236 (+20). Vallabhaneni was followed by sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/lauren-lupinek\/15552\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15552\" target=\"_blank\">Lauren Lupinek<\/a> who finished the weekend in 44th with a strong round on Saturday of 78. Lupienk also had rounds of 78-82 to end the tournament with 238 (+22).<\/p>\n<p>Having the best final round of the weekend was freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/danielle-daniy\/15679\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15679\" target=\"_blank\">Danielle Daniy<\/a>, who improved her individual standing by 11 places on Saturday. Daniy carded a tournament low of 77 while also having rounds of 85 and 79 for a final score of 241 (+25). Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/macy-beeson\/15549\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15549\" target=\"_blank\">Macy Beeson<\/a> ended the weekend behind Daniy as she carded rounds of 83-81-82 for a score of 246 (+30). WMU also had senior <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/jenna-hayes\/12665\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"12665\" target=\"_blank\">Jenna Hayes<\/a> and freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/wmubroncos.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/lea-lemieux\/15678\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"15678\" target=\"_blank\">Lea Lemieux<\/a> compete this weekend with scores of 247 (+31) and 252 (+36) respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Hosts Ohio State took the team title for the tournament, carding rounds of 295-294-301 for a final score of 890 (+26). Twenty fifth ranked Iowa State finished second in the team scores with rounds of 299-294-299 (+25). And fellow MAC team Kent State rounded out the top three teams as they had rounds of 302-290-302 (+30). Xavier&#8217;s Madison Reemsnyder\u00a0took home the invidual title in Columbus as one of only two players who finished the tournament under par. Reemsnyder had rounds of 73-72-68 for a score of 213 (-3) and was closely followed by Ohio State&#8217;s Nellie Ong at a score of 215 (-1).<\/p>\n<p>The Brown and Gold now head into the postseason later this month. Six Western Michigan players will compete in the MAC Women&#8217;s Golf Championship from Sunday, April 26 to Tuesday, April 28.
