\n\tJessica Chastain<\/a> says Apple TV<\/a> is finally going to release her political thriller series \u201cThe Savant<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt was supposed to premiere in September 2025 but was postponed following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The Oscar winner stars in the series as an investigator who goes undercover on the dark web to try to find hate groups and prevent domestic terrorism. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBefore it was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if we\u2019re going to see it,\u2019 but now I can say, \u2018We\u2019re going to see it,\u201d Chastain told me exclusively on Saturday at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony in Santa Monica.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for when, sources tell me that Apple is planning for a July release. <\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Apple TV announced the postponement on Sept. 23, it said in a statement, \u201cAfter careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone\u00a0\u2018The Savant.\u2019 We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA day later, Chastain, who also serves as an executive producer on \u201cThe Savant,\u201d said in her own statement posted on Instagram that she disagreed with Apple\u2019s decision<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve never shied away from difficult subjects, and while I wish this show wasn\u2019t so relevant, unfortunately it is,\u201d she wrote, in part<\/a>. \u201c\u2018The Savant\u2019 is about the heroes who work every day to stop violence before it happens, and honoring their courage feels more urgent than ever. While I respect Apple\u2019s decision to pause the release for now, I remain hopeful the show will reach audiences soon. Until then, I\u2019m wishing safety and strength for everyone, and I\u2019ll let you know if and when \u2018The Savant\u2019 is released.\u201d<\/p>\n
