Offensive line is one area that the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> need to address in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

Lane Johnson<\/a> is likely headed for retirement in the near future, and the Eagles will need to identify a replacement for the franchise legend.<\/p>\n

Eagles urged to avoid Utah OT Caleb Lomu in 2026 NFL Draft<\/p>\n

However, the Eagles have been urged to avoid<\/a> one particular player in the first round of the draft.<\/p>\n

Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report advised the Eagles against picking Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu due to a lack of perceived physicality.<\/p>\n

Lomu was named First-team All-Big 12 in 2025 and is projected as one of the better offensive in the draft, but\u00a0Ballentine isn’t sold on his fit in Philly.<\/p>\n

“Finding a successor for Lane Johnson has to be on the Eagles to-do list over the next two years. The 35-year-old is coming back for his 14th season, but the Eagles have to prepare for life without him,”\u00a0Ballentine wrote.<\/p>\n

“Caleb Lomu is generally considered a first-round prospect, but he doesn’t necessarily make sense for the Eagles. …\u00a0If the Eagles are planning on taking Johnson’s successor then a more physical presence like Kadyn Proctor, Monroe Freeling or Blake Miller would make more sense.”<\/p>\n

In addition to depth on the offensive line, the Eagles also need to address other positions in the draft including safety and potentially wide receiver, so it will be interesting to see what the Birds decide to do with their first pick.<\/p>\n

If Lomu is a guy that they like, they’re not going to be swayed by media suggestions, but it remains to be seen if he is.<\/p>\n

Luckily, the draft is just mere days away at this point, so we won’t have to wait much longer to find out what the Eagles will do.<\/p>\n
