{"id":617094,"date":"2026-04-20T18:48:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T18:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/617094\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T18:48:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T18:48:08","slug":"surrey-council-to-vote-on-childcares-proposed-for-single-family-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/617094\/","title":{"rendered":"Surrey council to vote on childcares proposed for single-family homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              Surrey council to vote on childcares proposed for single-family homes<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 10:15 am Monday, April 20, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Surrey council is set to vote on four childcare applications at its next regular council meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, April 27 at City Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Two will be subject to a public hearing while the other two are not, because the latter are consistent with the Official Community Plan and include a residential component.<\/p>\n<p>For those going to a public hearing, the first involves an existing single-family house at 8852 Lauder Drive with the applicant proposing to set up a standalone child care centre, to a maximum of 16 children, in the dwelling.<\/p>\n<p>The second involves a proposal to develop at three-storey commercial building at 6565 \u2013 152 Street with offices, a child care centre and a caretaker suite.<\/p>\n<p>The other two applications will directly be subject to a third-reading vote.
