\nThe respiratory outbreak declared on the Acute Care Unit at the North Shore Health Network\u2019s Blind River Site\u00a0has now been declared over as of April 18, 2026.<\/p>\n
Universal masking remains in place at this time. All visitors are strongly encouraged to wear a medical mask\u00a0when visiting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Original April 15 notice:
\nThe North Shore Health Network (NSHN), in collaboration with Algoma Public Health (APH), has declared a respiratory outbreak in the acute care unit at the Blind River site following proactive surveillance and case identification.<\/p>\n
NSHN is working closely with APH to keep workers, patients, visitors, and providers safe. Patients will continue to be monitored for any new symptoms.<\/p>\n
Effective immediately, the following precautions are in place:<\/p>\n
\n\tVisitors must wear a medical mask at all times and perform hand hygiene upon entry and exit.
\n\tVisits are limited to one patient at a time, in their room.
\n\tNon-essential visits are strongly recommended to be rescheduled.
\n\tVisitors with cold-like symptoms (fever, cough, runny nose, sneezing, difficulty breathing) should not visit.

NSHN will provide updates on the outbreak status as they become available.<\/p>\n
