Artem Zub<\/a> was not in the lineup for the Ottawa Senators<\/a> for Game 2 of their series against the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a> after suffering an undisclosed injury in Game 1 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Zub got the start in Game 1 on the top pairing alongside Jake Sanderson<\/a>, but left the game in the second period with an apparent injury. He finished the game with just 7:44 of ice-time and three hits. The Hurricanes went on to win 2-0.<\/p>\n

Sens head coach Travis Green<\/a> told reporters after the game that the team would \u201cknow more [on Sunday],\u201d but an official injury designation was never announced.<\/p>\n

Lassi Thomson<\/a> slotted in on the third pairing alongside Dennis Gilbert<\/a>, per The Athletic\u2019s Julian McKenzie.<\/p>\n

The Senators were already missing one defenceman headed into the series, as Tyler Kleven<\/a> – who has not suited up since April 2 – was ruled out prior to puck drop for Game 1.<\/p>\n

Kleven skated in practice before the game, and Green told reporters that he may be ready to go<\/a> later on in the series, but he was held out of Game 2.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old Zub set a career high with 30 points in 81 games this season, his sixth in the NHL – all with the Senators.<\/p>\n

Ottawa is seeking its first playoff series victory since the 2017 playoffs, when the team made it to the Eastern Conference Final before losing to Sidney Crosby<\/a> and the Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> in seven games.<\/p>\n
